The annual star party known as Stellafane will be held on Breezy Hill, outside of Springfield, Vermont on August 5-8 this year
Astronomer David Levy says:
“There are star parties… and then there’s Stellafane!”
The focus of this meeting is Amateur Telescope Makers,
and their equipment, not mainly observing, although there will be that.
There is a contest of homemade telescopes.
It is sponsored by Springfield Telescope Makers.
Springfield is a town west of the Connecticut River not far from
I-91 and US Route 5., not far from White River Junction.
Since white flashlights ruin night vision, they will be
handing out pieces of red cellophane to put over flashlights
so that will be "Stellafane Cellophane".
Enjoy the view if you go,and take many photos,
both of the telescopes in light,
and the sky when it gets dark.
